Annais Morales (b.1999) is a Mexican-American artist based in La Puente, California. She received her B.A. Linguistics with an emphasis in Spanish from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Utilizing craft as a form of expression, she explores themes of nostalgia and tradition through featuring familiar images of Mexican iconography, ranging from cartoons to religious motifs. With an emphasis in fiber arts, she uses these images as a way to connect with her cultural roots and experience. Through her art, Morales seeks to connect with her audience on a deep and personal level, inviting them to explore their own experiences of nostalgia and tradition, and to celebrate the rich cultural heritage that makes us who we are.
